Ironoxideisconsideredtobeakindofpotentialphotocatalystduetoitsrelatedvisiblelightabsorption,naturalabundancecl],lowcostandstabilityunderdeleteriouschemicalconditionsc2].Theobjectiveofpresentworkistosynthesizevisible-lightironoxidephotocatalystswithmagnetismforrecycleandreuse.Inthestudy,AgCI/ironoxidecompositesweresynthesizedbyasimplechemicalprecipitationmethodandcalciningprocess.Thematerialcomposition,opticalpropertiesaswellasthemagneticcharacteristicshavebeenexaminedandverified,indicatingtheAgCI/ironoxidecompositeswithhighcrystallinityandmagnetism.UV-visdiffusereflectancespectra(DRS)indicatedthattheAgCI/ironoxidecompositeswereofmuchhigherabsorptioninlongwavelengthregionthanthebareironoxide.TheAgCI/ironoxidecompositesexhibitedsignificantimprovementperformancesinthephotodegradationoforganicdyesRhodaminB(RhB)undertheirradiationbyfluorescentlamp,whichwasremarkablysuperiortotheN-Ti02andadditionally,sufficedforthedecompositionsofmicrocystin-LR(MC-LR)andphenolowingtoitseffectiveelectron-holeseparationattheinterfacesofAgCI/ironoxide.Moreover,AgCI/ironoxidecompositesphotocatalystscouldbeeasilyseparatedandreusedfromthetreatedwaterbytheapplicationofanexternalmagneticfieldduetothepresenceof‘y-Fe203,whichshowedmagneticforcewasenoughtoperformseparation.
